We headed to Berkeley for the engagement portraits because for one, it’s beautiful, and also because Rama is in the MBA program at UC Berkeley and he loves the campus. Who doesn’t! I really like this area, in fact I live just up the street from Berkeley in El Cerrito.

We started at the Berkeley Marina and captured some great shots on the pier and along the shore there.
We then headed to campus, where there is virtually an unlimited number of places to shoot. The light is so soft as it bounces off all of the beautiful buildings here and makes for great portraits. Here’s Rama in front of campus. Looks like a MBA grad, doesn’t he!

Nicole’s eyes are just striking in this portrait. This first one of the left is my personal favorite from the entire shoot.

A great shot with Sather Tower in the background.

At the end of the shoot, we headed back down to the coast to catch the twilight and get the portrait on the bottom right.

Last nights Mehndi party was awesome and I can’t wait to share the photos with you. But after a few hours of shooting and a good nights sleep, I headed out to the beach again to soak up some sun and dig my toes in the sand. It’s not too often I get to the beach on a warm day like today. Most of the time I have to wear a light jacket to the beach in San Francisco. This was my first time visiting Santa Monica. I wanted to check out the where the Sheraton Delfina was since that’s where the reception will be tomorrow, and it gave me a good excuse to chill for a couple hours. One of the best highlights of the day is finding a premium parking space with 4 hrs 38 min left on the meter. Score!

This weekend I’ll be shooting a wedding over four days in and around Santa Monica, CA. So while I’m down here in LA, away from our chilly and foggy weather in the bay area, I was really excited to get out and enjoy some sunshine today. This was the first time I’ve been to Manhattan Beach and I had a lot of fun walking around window shopping and checking out the pier. Tomorrow I have some more down time and I’m still deciding on where I should go.

A year ago I photographed Jennifer & James’ wedding in Dallas. We had a fantastic time and the wedding was just perfect. Since then, I’ve moved back to California with my wife and have started shooting weddings here. I was happy when I found out that Jenn & James were planning a trip to Napa for their 1st anniversary. I offered to spend an afternoon with them (the day before their actual anniversary) and take some shots (the photo kind), drink wine, and have a great time. So my wife and I headed up to Napa and we had a great time tasting and picnicking this past Saturday. We ended up at Rubicon Estate, which is a gorgeous winery. Here’s a few shots from our afternoon, and make sure to play the video I made to celebrate their first married year together.
